Index Analyzer

Backtest FIA strategies on the rates that were actually in effect.

Index Analyzer stack-ranks the index-crediting strategies on a fixed indexed annuity by backtested return - pricing each crediting period with the cap, participation rate, and spread in effect at the time, never today's rates applied backward. Then it builds an optimal allocation and compares it against what the contract holds now.

Index Analyzer backtest

Point-in-time backtesting

Each period priced on the rates that were in effect then.

A backtest is only honest if it credits each period with the cap, participation rate, and spread the contract actually carried at the start of that period. Index Analyzer prices every crediting window against the historical rate in force at the time, not today’s renewal rates applied backward over a decade of history.

  • Every crediting period uses the cap, par rate, or spread in effect at its start.
  • No anachronism: current renewal rates are never projected over past periods.
  • Annual, multi-year, and point-to-point crediting methods modeled per strategy.
  • Caps, participation rates, and spreads applied exactly as the contract defines them.

Strategy ranking

Stack-rank the crediting strategies by backtested return.

Run the index-crediting strategies available on a contract against the historical series and sort them by what they would have credited. The ranking gives you a defensible starting point for the allocation conversation - ordered by backtested return, with the inputs behind each line on the page.

  • Strategies sorted by backtested average annual credit.
  • Side-by-side view across the crediting options a contract offers.
  • Inputs shown alongside each result - index, method, cap, par, spread.
  • Strategy list and the rate inputs come straight from the rates feed.

Allocation builder

Build an optimal allocation, then compare three of them.

Past the ranking, Index Analyzer assembles an optimal allocation across the available strategies and puts it next to two others: the current allocation and a new one you draft. You read optimal versus current versus your draft in one place, so the recommendation carries the comparison with it.

  • Optimal allocation built across the contract’s available strategies.
  • Optimal vs. current vs. your draft allocation, compared side by side.
  • Allocation splits shown per strategy so the mix is explicit.
  • Comparison view travels with the recommendation, not buried in a spreadsheet.

Wired to the book

Routes from a flagged policy review for in-force re-allocation.

Index Analyzer is not a standalone calculator. When a policy review flags an in-force contract, you route straight into the analyzer with that contract’s strategies loaded - so a renewal or reallocation decision starts from the policy on the book and the data behind it, not a blank form.

  • Open the analyzer directly from a flagged policy review.
  • The in-force contract’s available strategies load with it.
  • Strategy and historical series data sourced from the rates feed.
  • Re-allocation decisions start from the policy on the book, not a blank form.
